Managing client expectations in search engine optimisation are about finding the balance between keeping the client optimistic and happy and setting realistic expectations for which you are going to be accountable for. When working with the client it can sometimes be easy to oversell the immediacy of SEO in the hopes of seeing a contract come through. Anyone who has misjudged their SEO timeline will quickly find it out how difficult it is to manage the expectations of a client who is constantly seeking answers, best thing that you can do is to keep a clear and transparent line of communication with your clients and keep them up to date with anything that may hinder the progress of their campaign. Perhaps the most difficult aspect of SEO is that you are constantly guessing how Googles next day algorithm update is going to affect your work. While it can be tempting to get caught up in numbers and figures, you need to remember that you are being paid to drive growth – not for your rankings charts. in this vein, it pays to target keywords that are going to yield a positive impact on the business.
